Raising awareness about the CULTURE and PEOPLE of Ukraine through MUSIC, ART and PRAYER

Why:

  • Raise funds for Ukrainian people in need and obtain specific materials for distribution to defense personnel on the ground.

What:

  • Morristown for Ukraine. A benefit, rally, and vigil for the people of Ukraine.

When:

  • June 2nd, 6 PM to 9 PM

Where:

  • The Morristown Green

Highlights:

The Morristown For Ukraine Committee has worked closely with the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey to understand the specific needs of Ukraine’s civilians and those who are fighting to defend their country. The evening will be centered around reflection, unity, prayer, and peace. The program will include the following:
  • Participation by local churches and temples from the greater Morristown area.
  • Performances from the Ukrainian Church dancers, Ukrainian music, and local Morris County based musicians and vocalists. Music and tone to be in tune with the overall mood of the situation in Ukraine. Not celebratory, but inspirational. A ceremony will take place at sundown with a candlelight prayer.
  • Culture through Ukrainian art. Storyboards highlighting towns and regions of Ukraine at each entrance to The Green. Children’s corner for creating art which will be sent with donations.
  • Comments from politicians who will include mayors from the greater Morris-area as well as county-wide and local representatives.
  • Volunteers will be needed to receive donations, ushering, directing people, and various other tasks.
